The Student Conference on International Relations and Area Studies

Faculty of European Studies

 

October 30th, 2026, Hybrid format

 

We invite students from Babeș- Bolyai University and other national and international universities to submit papers that explore a wide range of topics within the field of international relations. This conference provides a platform for students to present their research, engage in critical discussions, and contribute to the vibrant academic community in the study of global affairs.

 

Conference Themes and Topics:

The 21st century has brought unprecedented changes in the landscape of international relations. The conference aims to explore the current state of global affairs, addressing both traditional and emerging issues that are reshaping the international order. Some of the key themes include, but are not limited to:

  • Geopolitical shifts and regional conflicts
  • Humanitarian Crises
  • Ethnic and Religious Conflicts
  • Religion in International Relations
  • Global Governance and International Organizations
  • The Role of Non-State Actors in International Relations
  • Terrorism and Security Threats
  • AI, Technology, Cyber Security, and International Policy
  • European Studies
  • Asian Studies

 

Conference languages: English and Romanian

Venue: Faculty of European Studies (1 Emm. de Martonne, Cluj-Napoca, Romania)

Participation fees: free of charge

Submission Guidelines:

Submissions are open to undergraduate and graduate students. Individual or group submissions are welcome.


Important deadlines:

  • September 1st, 2026 – deadline for title and abstract submission
  • September 7th, 2026 – notice of acceptance

All papers will undergo a peer-review process, and selected papers will be considered for publication.
