The campaign will be implemented in spring 2022, in the run-up to the UN Biodiversity CBD COP15 Conference, and during the European Year of Youth. Its objective is to allow young people to contribute to the debate on a new global accord for nature and people – post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework – that will be agreed at the Conference, and collect their ideas about how to make this framework a reality in the EU. Together with our partners and all engaged young people out there, we want to co-create an action plan with concrete steps to protect and restore our natural world in the next decade and design a future where we can all live in harmony with nature.
The call for events has been launched to amplify the voices of young people, and to invite young citizens and youth organisations across the EU to become part of the journey and contribute to the debate on the future of our planet and biodiversity in a meaningful way by organising events that will be implemented between March and May 2022. Their ideas and inspirational actions demonstrated during the events will be taken on board during the closing campaign event. All details are provided on the call page #TheGreenTrack (europa.eu) and the Guidelines, available in all EU languages.
