Based on a Central European perspective, in the exciting multicultural and academic capital city of Transylvania, the Master program of Transatlantic Studies creates excellent opportunities of deepening knowledge and doing research on European – North American complex relations.

Offered by the Faculty of European Studies in Cluj-Napoca, the Transatlantic Master is a two-year MA program in English, in the field of International Relations and European Studies, focusing on providing students with a fine and multidisciplinary understanding of Transatlantic relations.

From international relations to politics and diplomacy, and from economic approaches to cultural affairs, the curriculum is balanced, attractive and pragmatically oriented

Admission to the MA program in Transatlantic Studies consists in:

• an Interview during which the candidate will discuss with the commission his/her
  interest in any topic pertaining to the broad field of Transatlantic studies.
• knowledge of English (attested by a Language Proficiency Certificate)

The admission process takes place every year in July and September. The number of places is limited, so early admission (i.e. in July) is advised!

The interview is meant to help the interview commission assess the candidate’s interest in and commitment for pursuing a degree in this challenging contemporary subject. There is no compulsory bibliography for the interview, the candidates being free to consult whatever sources they consider relevant.

Knowledge of English is a prerequisite for applying to this program. The language proficiency certificate can also be obtained after applying for a place in the program and filed before the beginning of the academic year.

Romanian and candidates from EU member states can apply for budgeted places (i.e., they do not have to pay tuition fees).

Overseas candidates who wish to enroll in this program will pay a monthly tuition fee of 270 EUR, subject to change each academic year.

As in many other western countries, the Transatlantic Master programme provides students an ideal academic environment for improving their knowledge and skills as well as consolidating their initial professional qualification, in the large spectrum of international relations.
